Privacy Policy
- Gint Co., Ltd. (‘http://www.gintlab.com’, hereinafter “Gint”) has developed the following processing policy to protect the users' personal information and rights in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act, while facilitating the efficient handling of users’ grievances and complaints related to their personal information.
- Gint Co., Ltd. ('Gint') shall inform the users of any revisions or amendments of this Privacy Policy by posting announcements on its website (or by sending individual notices).
- This policy shall enter into force on December 1, 2020.
1. Purpose of Processing Personal Information
- Gint Co., Ltd. ('http://www.gintlab.com', hereinafter “Gint”) processes the personal information of service users for the purposes outlined below. Gint does not process personal information for any purposes other than those listed below, and it shall obtain the users’ prior agreement in the event of any changes in the purpose of its collection and use.

3. Period of processing and retention of personal information
- ① Gint Co., Ltd. ('Gint') processes and retains personal information within the periods of retention and use permitted by the relevant statutes or within the periods agreed to by the information subjects at the time of collecting their information.

4. Provision of personal information to third parties

('http://www.gintlab.com' hereinafter “Gint”) may provide personal information to third parties only after obtaining the prior consent of the information subject concerned, or when special legal provisions require such provision to a third party, as stipulated in Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

Article 5. Rights and duties of information subjects and their legal representatives, and methods of exercising them
The users may exercise the following rights according to their status as information subjects:
- ① The information subjects may, at any time, exercise the right to request from Gint access to their personal information or correction of deletion thereof, or suspension of the processing of their personal information.
- ② The users may exercise their rights under Paragraph 1 by submitting such request to Gint in writing (by letter), by e-mail, or by fax message or other means in accordance with Article 41 (1) of the Enforcement Decree of the Personal Information Protection Act; and Gint shall respond to such requests and take the appropriate action without delay.
- ③ The rights provided under the foregoing paragraph 1 may be exercised by the legal agent of, or the person entrusted by, the information subjects. In such a case, the applicant should submit a power of attorney using Annex 11 Form under the Enforcement Rules of the Personal Information Protection Act.
- ④ The right of the information subjects to request review of or discontinuance of the handling of their personal information may be restricted based on Article 35 Paragraph 5 or Article 37 Paragraph 2 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
- ⑤ The information subjects may not request the correction or deletion of their personal information when the relevant personal information is explicitly designated as subject to collection under other statutes.
- ⑥ Gint checks whether persons seeking to exercise the right to request access to, correct or delete personal information, or suspend its processing, are true information subjects or their legitimate agents.
6. Preparation of items of personal information processed

7. Destruction of personal information: Procedure and Method
- In principle, Gint Co., Ltd. ('Gint') destroys all relevant personal information without delay upon achieving the purpose of its processing. The procedure, deadlines, and methods for destroying personal information are as follows:
- Destruction
The information entered by the users is transferred to a separate database (separate document folders in the case of hardcopy) when the purpose of its use and collection has been achieved, and it is then destroyed immediately or after storage or retention for the period provided under the internal policy or relevant statutes. Personal information that is transferred to a database will not be used for any other purposes, unless specifically required under the relevant statutes.

Users’ personal information is destroyed within five days from the end day of the retention period when the retention period elapses , or five days from the day when it is believed no longer necessary to handle it; or when the personal information is no longer required as the purpose of its processing has been achieved, or when the relevant service has been abolished or discontinued.
- Destruction method
Personal information stored in digital files is deleted using a technical means of disabling its recovery or retrieval.
Personal information files printed on paper are destroyed by shredding or incineration.
8. Installation, operation or refusal of devices that collect personal information automatically
- ① Gint uses ‘cookies,’ which save and periodically retrieve usage information, in order to provide individually customized services.
- ② Cookies are small bits of information which the server (http) uses to operate the website and sends to the user’s computer browser. Cookies are sometimes stored on the hard disc of the user’s computer.
a. Purpose of using cookies: Cookies are used to provide the users with optimized information by analyzing or surveying the patterns of their visits to and use of services or websites, popular search key words, secure access or not, etc.
b. Installation, operation or refusal of cookies: The users may refuse the storage of cookies by setting up the relevant options on their web browser: Tools at top > Internet options > Personal Information Menu.
c. If they refuse the storage of cookies, users may experience difficulties in using certain customized services.

Gint Co., Ltd. (‘http://www.gintlab.com’ hereinafter ‘Gint) will respond to and handle your inquiries without delay.
10. Changes in Personal Information Processing Policies
- This Personal Information Processing Policy is applicable from the date of its enforcement. In the event that any new provisions are added to this Policy, or existing provisions are corrected or deleted, due to a change in the related statutes or policies, Gint will notify the users thereof by issuing a public announcement seven days before the enforcement of such changes.
Article 11. Measures for ensuring the security of personal information
- Gint Co., Ltd. ('Gint') implements the following technical, administrative, and physical measures necessary to ensure security in accordance with Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act:
- 1. Periodic internal audits:
ㆍTo ensure security related to personal information handling, Gint periodically conducts internal audits (once a quarter).
- 2. Minimum number of personnel who handle personal information and training:
ㆍGint minimizes the number of personnel who handle personal information, limits access to personal information to the responsible individuals, and provides them with the relevant training.
- 3. Development and enforcement of internal control plans:
ㆍGint has developed and enforced internal control plans for processing personal information safely.
- 4. Technical countermeasures against hacking:
ㆍGint Co., Ltd. ('Gint') has installed security programs, and performs periodic updates and inspections, in order to prevent personal information leakages or damages caused by hacking attacks or computer viruses. Systems are installed in areas where external access is controlled, and they are monitored and blocked by both technical and physical means.
- 5. Encryption of personal information:
ㆍUsers' personal information and passwords are stored and managed in encrypted form, and can be accessed only by the authorized individuals. For critical data, additional security measures are employed, such as the encrypting of files and transmission data, or the use of file locking functions.
- 6. Storage of access records and prevention of tampering or forging:
ㆍRecords of access to the personal information processing system are retained and managed for at least 6 months; and security features are employed to prevent any tampering with, forging, theft, or loss thereof.
